We left Ticfaw State Park in Louisiana on this COLD morning. Thank the Lord for his provision of safety, and without incidents. We passed over the Mississippi near Baton Rouge, LA. The sky was blue and the weather great for driving. We finally arrived in Texas around 9:45 am CST. Yeah! :) No longhorns or cowboys yet (unless you count Charles). We stopped at the visitor center, where Charles was wearing his cowboy hat and a little boy said "look mom did you see that cowboy that went into the bathroom". Shona & Isaac got a big chuckle. We saw a heard of longhorns east of San Antonio. The land is vast and rolling. Lot's of oak trees on open pastures. Very lovely, even though the grass has not turned green. This area is in a severe drought. They have only had a few inches of rain in the last 18 months.
